Selkirk Selects was established in 1998 and is a non-profit organization catering to both male and female artistic gymnastics from ages 2 and up. We moved to our current location in 2006; the club averages 200+ Recreational and Competitive gymnasts. Our club has experienced many great successes over the years and continues to expand year to year.
FALL SESSION
September - April
Fall Session is an 8 month program offered to both Recreational and Competitive Gymnasts. This program gives gymnasts the opportunity to experience the sport of gymnastics during a longer time period.

SPRING SESSION
May - June
Spring Session is for gymnasts who wish to do more gymnastics after the regular season has ended. Any competitive gymnasts who are going to be moving up to a higher level in the following year are required to attend Spring Session so that they can start getting ready for the upcoming season at their new level!

SUMMER CAMP
July - August
Summer Camp is the perfect way for your child to stay active in the summer months when there are no regularly scheduled gymnastics classes. Gymnasts will spend the day perfecting their gymnastics skills, conditioning, playing out-door games, water games and crafts... followed by more gymnastics!

Parent & Tot
Gender: Boys & Girls
Ages: Walking - 3
Class Length: 45 mins
Come explore gymnastic with your child! This class is designed for you to spend quality time with your child in a structured, fun environment while developing their gross motor skills and basic gymnastics movements. This is a great way to introduce children to an active, healthy lifestyle. They will get to play some games and explore all of our gymnastics equipment.

Recreational Boys
Gender: Boys
Ages: 7+
Class Length: 1 hour
This class is designed for gymnasts with little or no experience in the sport. It introduces children to the basics of gymnastics in a fun, safe and disciplined environment. Skills will be developed to improve flexibility, balance and strength, which enhances skills development. This class is the building block for entrance into the boys pre-competitive levels.

Pre-Competitive MINIES

Gender: Girls
Ages: 5-7
Class Length: 1.5 hours
This class is by invitation only and is designed to introduce girls to the skills and discipline that is required for our competitive program. Our coaches emphasize quality, self-improvement, and hard work in a fun-filled structured class. Gymnasts will develop their strength, flexibility, body awareness and coordination on all four events; just watch their confidence grow! They will also get to participate in two skill based in-house “Pre-Comp Cookie Comps” throughout the year where they will get to showcase to parents/caregivers the skills they have learned .

Pre-Competitive MIGHTIES

Ages: 8+
Class Length: 2 hours
This class is by invitation only and is designed to introduce boys to the skills and discipline that is required for our competitive program. Please see the "Boys Pre-Competitive MINIES" description, as aside from age requirements, the classes are the same.

Kindergym
Gender: Boys & Girls
Ages: 3-5
Class Length: 45 mins
KinderGym best suited for children ages 3-5. This class is designed for girls & boys as an introduction to the basics of gymnastics in a fun, safe and disciplined environment. This active class introduces them to all of the equipment involved with artistic gymnastics in an age-appropriate fashion.

Recreational 2
Gender: Girls
Ages: 9+
Class Length: 1.5 hours
This class is best suited for girls ages 9 and up. Please see the above “Recreational 1” description as these two classes are the same, aside from the age requirements.

Pre-Competitive MIGHTIES

Ages: 8+
Class Length: 2 hours
This class is by invitation only and is designed to introduce girls to the skills and discipline that is required for our competitive program. Please see the "Girls Pre-Competitive MINIES" description, as aside from age requirements, the classes are the same.

Men's Competitive

Class Length: Varies by Level
This program is developed to assist in the progression from the Regional Stream to Provincial Stream.
The program puts an emphasis on having fun yet demands a commitment to working hard. As the gymnasts progress and higher levels are achieved, further competitions beyond the Regional Stream can be introduced. The Regional Stream includes beginner thru advanced and Provincial Stream includes Level 1-4 for men.

Recreational 1 (Co-Ed)
Gender: Boys & Girls
Ages: 6-8
Class Length: 1 hour
This class is designed for gymnasts with little or no experience in the sport. It introduces children to the basics of gymnastics in a fun, safe and disciplined environment. Skills will be developed to improve flexibility, balance and strength, which enhances skills development. Advanced Recreational

This is for gymnasts who have completed the Recreational 1/2 program, who want to continue working on new skills but do not want to compete.

Women's Competitive
(Developmental Program)

Ages: 8+
Class Length: Varies by Level
This program is developed to assist in the progression through the Canada wide Junior Olympic Program. Our program puts an emphasis on having fun yet demands a commitment to working hard. Gymnasts will be required to compete at a minimum of three competitions per year and coaches & competition scores will determine the level the gymnast will be eligible to compete in. As the gymnast’s progress and higher levels are achieved, further training and competitions will be introduced.

Assessments usually take around 15-30 minutes. During this assessment, the coach will ask the gymnast to perform various basic skills to give them an understanding as to which level would be best suited for their child.
