CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Pre-Competitive Program

Offered in Fall, Spring and Summer Camp

This class is by invitation only and is designed to introduce girls to the competitive program to help them decide if they are interested in the competitive stream. This class allows girls to be challenged but without the commitment and obligations that go along with the competitive program. It is also for girls who want to go in the competitive direction but are either not ready or old enough yet.

Regional Stream Program

Offered in Fall, Spring and Summer Camp

This is the largest competitive stream in Manitoba. Our competitive program is for both male and female gymnasts from the beginner level to the most advanced, who want to participate in various competitions through the province. This invitation-required program puts an emphasis on having fun yet demands a commitment to working hard.  Gymnasts work on skills that help them do better when competing in the sport and that make them feel good about themselves and their achievements while supporting and encouraging others to do the same. As the gymnasts’ progress and higher levels are achieved, further competitions beyond the regional stream can be introduced as the gymnasts further develop their skills.

The program is evaluated by MGA on an annual basis and routine requirements are refined to challenge the level of athlete, keep them interested in participating, and to stay current with the developments made in the sport. Gymnasts train 2-3 times a week.

Provincial Stream Program

Offered in Fall, Spring and Summer Camp

The Provincial Stream Program provides the necessary skill development and competition experience for gymnasts to move successfully to a higher level of competition. The gymnasts in this level can be either achieving their goals at their existing level and /or aspiring to the next level of competition. The Program is developed to assist in the progression from the Regional Stream, to Provincial Level and to the National Level.
The gymnasts in this program compete in competitions throughout the Province including the Manitoba Open Championships and a Provincial Championships. Gymnasts may represent the Province on the Team to Western Canadians and compete in Inter-Provincial Club Competitions.
The girls compete JO Levels 5-9. The boys compete in Level 1-5.
